I removed this part of the code, because it created some problems with certain images. Anyway, you can find these functions in some commits ago (for example: https://github.com/arthurflor23/handwritten-text-recognition/blob/3377ce19ff43eeee93a9a9965e0aa757a0457001/src/data/preproc.py). Note that you will have to make adaptations to return with these functions, since the project had other updates in parallel.
